New clearing headlight method

Check the link below. Another method to clear your headnlights. The interesting part is that they suggest you to put the whole headlight into a tank of warm water (50C) for 10 mins Everyone who cleared headlight knows about the risk of fogging. But putting it into hot water to soften the silicon? I'm not too sure about that...Anyone want to try?

I definately wouldn't do it that way because even if it does work to open it you still have to re-seal them, but now you have to make sure all the moisture is out otherwise you will always have that trapped moisture in there.......not a good idea to me

sounds like an idea to me.. if you're taking it APART, who cares about water getting into it?

I just had that website translated and I still don't think it a good idea. Dropping the headlight in water, then dry it up? That's just kinda dumb. I still think the oven theory works a little better. BTW, #4 is to have the housing painted......

yeah, you'd have to make sure when you dry the chrome parts that you don't touch it with your hands, scratch them or let water spots form. Too much work. Clearing your headlights is risky enough as it is, IMO.

Um, silicone is water-proof. I think the warmth from the water may loosen up the silicon a bit, but so will putting them in the oven...

Wouldn't the water go in from the back where the bulbs go in?
