Need some ideas/help on NAV Integration
Hey guys, I am in need of some advice/ideas/help with project I would like to do. Instead of buying a double din NAV unit that could cost anywhere from 500-1000+ I am wondering if it's possible to integrate a Garmin gps device into the cars dash. Maybe someplace in the coin holder or someplace where the stereo is? (I have a single din right now) I can route the power to cig jack from the center console or from the cig jack in the dash, doesn't really matter.
What I want to know if it'll fit? The dimensions of the unit measure 4.8"W x 2.9"H x .8"D (12.2 x 7.4 x 2.0 cm). I am sure we can fit that someplace. I have sandbags and suction cups as they leave marks etc.
Any ideas?
Sorry for posting the TL section although I have a CL. But, our dash boards are the same, no?

you want the nav screen up high --not looking in and down--that leads to a new TL~
meaning the one you are in wraps around a tree while you are focused inside

Gotta better idea from a friend. Since I don't use the sunglass holder I'll just mount it in there and run the power cord to the cig lighter socket.
