Need some help with suspension for 94 Accord EX

We have a 94 Accord EX and need to replace either the shocks or struts on it. First of all, does the Accord even come with shocks? I looked around and only saw struts. Which ones shoudl we get? We are looking for a smooth ride and we found the factory struts front and rear for $76 each. Should we go for those or should we get Bilstein or Monroe? I was thinking we should stick to factory because they have been dependable for 170k miles. We do not want to upgrade to performance struts because the car is for my sister. So what should we get?

Thanks
Rosh

Yes the accord takes struts. Any of those that you mentioned are fine. Most auto parts store carry them. I'v heard the bilsten are good. On a side note how is her Accord holding up (besides struts?) I am turning 80K soon and love the car (problem free) I was planning on getting a Tl-S but if my accord stays healthy I can keep saving money and get a 5 series.

You wouldn't believe the car has 170,000 miles on it if you drove it. The engine is like butter, knock on wood. It is still quiet and drives fine. This is the reason we are still going to keep it. It has been maintained at the dealer for every service and the service guy wants to buy it from my dad. Anyway, I think I am going to see how much the guy will charge us for labor if we handed him the struts.

Thanks for your reply.
