The resonator was removed on the 04 Tl and it lost power on the dyno, and when a Injen was added it picked up I believe 8 hp, their should be a post on it. Dont know the reaction on the second gen but I think it wont help performance. As far as winter (Snow, Rain) I would get the AEM with the bypass valve which I have had on most my vehicles and never had a problem.

hey bryan- i'm just wondering why you're worried for the wintertime? most people drive their INJEN CAIs through snow and rain and it's fine...there's a plastic panel which is part of your bumper which protects the filter. nothing can get through to the filter unless you're forging a river. removing your resonator for a 2nd gen will increase performance a little, mostly just sound and improved gas mileage. good luck. (i think people say that INJEN CAIs sound better). -shawn

Man when I put my V2 on I picked the best time to do it, winter. If I were you I'd be totaly amped on adding a CAI onto your TL for winter. The cold air peaks it out and like mentioned before the CAI is covered up by the bumper and the underbody so you really have nothing to worry about. I live in FLorida where it rains every f*cking day and so far my V2 has never taken on any water and my engine is running better than ever with it.
