Need an opinion
After months of listening in and running numerous searching on items stemming from brakes to oil changes to transmissions I have finally made my first step toward owning my very own TL.
I received a qoute yesterday from Acura of Valley Stream for a 2003 TL type s w/ navi for $31,900 before ttl. Is this a good price or does anyone believe i can do better with the new model coming out within 2 months. Also has anyone on this board had any dealing with this particular dealer? (guy tried to feed me some story about his car is the only one left in the entire tri-state area) :wow: I am in NY by the way.
Any responses will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I bought from Valley Stream back in Nov, paid roughly the same less the price of the Navi. I don't know what will happen with the intro of the 04, but I would think that the '03s would drop a little bit.
I didn't get the Nav because I couldn't wait for them to get one with Nav. Would've had to wait another couple of months. Keep in mind, their warehouse is not right there. So everything they have in the lot isn't "all" they have. Plus I think dealers around that area will "trade" with other dealers, like those off the southern state. Overall, they treated me pretty well. They throw in the free first oil change (just confirm that if you want it). What color are you looking for ? I got APB which took a little longer.

I'd take any color as long as it is not green, I like the car that much.
(to understand what you said) you paid $31,900 without navi?
i want a fair and resonable price not looking to make a killing off the dealer or anything. I still have Paragon and Manhattan to check later this week or next. Kind of thinking I should take this deal before it is not there anymore

Sorry for the confusion, I paid about 29,5 or somewhere around there. I forget exactly. I was saying that i didn't get the Navi. The Navi option sells between $1500 and $2000. Although more towards the $2000 side. I regret not waiting for the Navi as you'll find most here w/o navi agree.
Please stay away from Paragon. Guy didn't give me the time of day, plus I heard of a guy who bought a slightly "new" car there (300 miles on the odo). Brought it to another shop for some warranty work, saw weld marks across the bottom. Can't comment on Manhattan.

You definitely can get a better deal than $31,900 before tax and license. I paid $29,500 for my TL-S non-NAVI in March and several others have reported under $29,000. The NAVI adds $2000 MSRP, so an equivalent price with NAVI would be $31,500 or slightly less. I think you can definitely bargain them down to $30,750 or so, especially now that the 2004 models are so close. In any case, just play hardball with them and go to other dealers and get quotes. Pit them against each other. Also, check them through Edmunds.com and get some internet quotes. Definitely, DO NOT PAY $31,900. You can absolutely, positively get it for $1000 less than this.
It might be worth your while to use something like http://www.invoicedealers.com to see what dealer's cost is on the vehicle.

Edmunds says you should pay in $30,978+destination in NY. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2003/acur...l?setzip=10001
Anyway, whatever price you pay, try to get first Navi DVD update for free - and in writing. Because you will be getting 2 year old maps. New update is coming out this fall.
