Need info on Brake Pad

Dear Folks,

Now I have left with 4mm in Front Brake, 2 mm in Rear Brake left.
My Acura Service Agent strongly recommenned me to replace
the brake pads.

His estimate was 400$,
I am not planning to spend that much now.

I read the posts about brake pads in this dicussion,

I have not discovered a complete info on how to change them,
If you have any please post..

I also found that many folks recommend Endless brake pads,
I saw it cost 129$ a piece, is there a place I can get this cheaper.

I have an experience changing my tire on highway when
tire got punctured.

thanks

It's real easy to change them yourself, and you might be able to get them cheaper through Internet searches. Also remember that if you upgrade your pads, your stock rotors won't hold up. You can get in on a group buy on the other site for a pair of slotted/dimpled rotors for $129 a pair I believe. The other site is acura and world .com You have to make "acura" and "world" one word with ".com" right after it. If you try and spell it out here, it will look like this **********.com

This seems pretty good idea to me,
I am little scared to change both Pads and Rotor(129$pads + 129$ for rotor)

Where do I get these $48 bucks a pair pads(Are these ACURA OEM and dealer would like to sell these to me at this price ?).

When you guys press the piston back into the caliper prior to installing the new pads do you remove the cap from the master cylinder? I always done this on my older cars (gm's) so I didn't pop the cap due to pressure when the fluid re-enters.

Sorry, but not true if you are referring to Vita Nuova I Endless pads. I'm currently running Endless pads with stock rotors, and I have no problems whatsoever. The problem with all the warped rotors we keep hearing is that the stock brake pads are too hard for the stock rotors. Now if you are referring to other types of performance brake pads, then you may be correct.

How many miles have you put on those pads and how much were they? I would love improved performace over stock brakes, especially without upgrading the rotors. How much better is the breaking? Any noise from them?

I've put on about 8,000 KM on these pads, and so far everything is great! I bought my Endless pads here, Acura-TL.com . The braking performance is waaay better over stock. It's like night and day difference. And no, there's no squealing noise whatsoever. Highly recommend them. Do a search on Endless and see my comments when I first got them. Good luck!

Thanks to all the folks who read/replied to my query.

Now here is the summary what I did:

Bought Front and rear brake pads (OEM ) for 112$ including tax.
Took my car to a local mechanic, he replaced front and rear brake pads , for $100.

Brakes are working fine now.
