Post need help - what is the hook in the trunk for (on the left side)??

Hey all - while I was at the dealership, I asked my sales guy what the hook inside the trunk was for (it appears on the the left side of trunk). He said he asked some people from Acura the same question and they didn't know. No one seems to know. I told him that I could find out (thinking of this forum as a reference of course). So, does anyone know??

Thanks

Wink

Hook yourself to when you got locked in the trunk?? J/K

But seriously, I have been wondering the same thing, too, and there ain't anything in the manual regarding the hook in the trunk(Maybe I missed it some where in the manual, will check again)...

Let you hook up your freshly cleaned suits so they won't move around, fold and get wrinkles???

Any thoughts??

I think it's to keep the flap open when you are taking the spare tire and things out of the trunk.

not the hook that lifts the spare tire cover, but the one that is mounted on the left side of the inside of the trunk..

Hm.. that makes sense, but how much weight can be hook onto it?? It looks steady to me, but don't want to rip it off if I put too much weight...

Yup grocery bag hanger. Shame on the sales guy for not knowing what that is.

It's so funny. After being on this site for a year or so, I feel I know way more than any sales guy...or girl.

Anybody figure out how to connect the "net" in the trunk, if you have a trunk mat guard?

ditto.. funny how i accidentally discovered thats what it was really for. I was worried that my ill bag with milk was gonna turn over and spill.. and I was like.. hey .. this is perfect I've also slipped a half gallon milk into the center storage under the armrest. it was the best place to put it while doing those hard turns

I found the hook to be very handy when I picked up a load of dry cleaning the other day.

I can't believe this discussion is still going on. Do a little searching and you will see another thread on the topic: http://www.acura-tl.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/006320.html
