Need help with radio code

Hi, I'm trying to find the radio code for my 99 TL. I have my vin #: 19UUA5649XA032490 and my radio's serial #: B90237625. I have gone to the Acura webpage, https://radio-navicode.acura.com/ but I'm not the original owner so my zip code and my phone don't match what they have listed. Does anyone have the ability to check this out for me? Or have any advice?

Thanks

I think there are a few ways listed in the DIY section
here is the link
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/new-official-2nd-gen-tl-diy-thread-706083/

usually the dealer can look it up with the numbers you have too, ask the parts dept or sevice manager

You can check your glove box, and your owner's manual. There might be other place but I forgot them. This has happened to me before too because I couldn't find mine anywhere. If I remember correctly, I called this number: (800) 382-2238.

Dealer won't do anything for you unless you call the exact dealer that the car was bought at. Call that number and get a representative and tell them that you bought the car and stuff. You might have to update them with your information. Then just tell them the serial and they should give you your radio code within a few minutes.

After that you will put it into your radio and it will say Er001 (something like that) and you will come back to the forum and ask "How come my radio code doesn't work???"

You will have to go to an underground parking garage where you don't get radio reception and then you input the code. Or you can take apart your center console and remove the antenna and input the code. I would just go to an underground garage unless you really don't have any around your area.

I just went to a underground garage and pretended that I made a wrong turn into there. (I live in NYC so its $10 for half an hour and that's the cheapest time you can buy) Quickly input the code, got the radio to work and got the hell outta there.

that number is for `acura care`- basic customer service and will not be able to help you

any dealer has access to the mainframe computer and can pull up your code
or use the 10 dollar website and look up yourself

Not all years have the prob taking the code in open air, my 01 is fine with code anywhere

pls read the threads on radio code in the DIY list

Well the dealers that I called were aholes then. I called like 3 or 4 dealers near me and they all said that they couldn't do it and had me call some (800) Acura number.

I also asked them to see if they could check maintenance records of my car and they said they wouldn't be able to see anything unless I had the work done at that specific Acura dealer.

They basically push me away and try not to help me over the phone so I am forced to go into the dealership to get ripped off, which I will never do. I guess they really want my money. That's when I realized that dealers were useless.

Had you asked- CAN they get the code- for 100 bucks they would ck the radio serial number and look it up for you no problem

BUT you are a person wanting something for free- on the phone
no history as a customer with the dealer..why should they do for free what you might pay for??

No they cant look up service records from other dealers, and the code is not in there.
A slight chance last owner wrote it down inside the car- under fuse covers or edge of glovebox door, owner manual etc

or some people store it on their acura.com owner account, and you can see it when you reg as new owner
http://owners.acura.com/registration...istration.aspx

so your choices are the website that charges but has helped many
or take your radio out and xerox the serial number, take it with car reg in your name to dealership with a box of donuts- and ask parts or service manager to assist you

If you prefer to go without radio --it wont bother the dealer at all~

If you call any of their (800) #s, they should be able to transfer you to the right department for you to get the radio code. I don't think he got lucky cause that's what I did too.

ACS (the 800 number) has an extension for Radio code issues when you first call them. I was able to get both codes for my radio after speaking with someone for 5 minutes.

Thing is you must be already registered with them. If you're not in their books already I assume it won't be this easy.

So basically, if you need the code but haven't told them you're the new owner of that VIN, call up asking if there were any open warranties on your car....they'll ask if you're the new owner, start taking your info, and now you're in the system. Call back maybe in like a week and then get the code.

usa 1 800 382 2238 x5 to register as owner

Everyone needs to be in that system- it sends out recall notices-- like the current one on airbag inflator-- that many dont know about

canada 1 888 9acura9 is your customer care center- register with them
