Need Help with a few things.
Ive had my car for a few months now its a 99 TL and im planning on getting some coilovers for my car. I want to slam it but cant afford much because im a high school student and would like some oppinions on what I should get. Ive seen some for $150 and all the way up to 1000$. Thankyou
There are two types of coilovers you can get -- sleeve-type coilover, or a full coilover.
An example of the former would be the Ground Control system. It has adjustable perches for ride height, but does not come with struts. You have to buy those separately.
An example of the latter would be Tein. The struts and the springs are a one-piece structure and are meant to work together. It's also ride-height adjustable, and depending on model, also damping-adjustable.
I've priced out sleeve-type systems and full coilover systems. They come out pretty close to each other. In my opinion, I would go with a system like Tein SS with great reputation and quality, along with ride height and damping adjustability. Tein also offers something nobody else does -- EDFC. It is a control unit with 4 serves that mount on top of the struts and you can control the damping from the control unit in the driver's seat. I think the EDFC goes for about 325 shipped.
If you want to a more affordable system, then you can get the Ground Control system with Tokico Blue struts.
