Need help choosing a CAI

Hi guys, i just recently bought my 2002 TL-s and I'm now planning to soup it up. I'm gonna start with the intake. Which intake should I get? I narrowed it down to the OBX one or the AEM one. Anyone got suggestions? Are there other CAIs out there worth mentionning? I looked at graphs and it seem the AEM is a bit better. Right? Thanks in advance!

AEM is much better. Maybe Comptech as well.

How much $$$ do you have?

If money is no object then Get Comptech Icebox with a K&N replacement.
If that's too much then your next best bet is Injen.

The only reason why you'd want to get AEM is if you live in CA and need a CARB certified intake.

Is the performance difference worth the price difference between el cheapo CAI and a comptech one? By the way, i'm in Canada, so emission test crap lol... 270$ USD for a CAI is kinda expensive... But if it's worth it, i'll get it.

nope not worth it. I know a few people who got cheep CAI's off Ebay ($35 US) and got a replacement K&N filter for them for a total of like $65...that is just as good as any other CAI that costs 3 times as much.

i bought the comptech icebox, so i won't messed up with that and i can resell it whenever i don't want it

i don't use cheap parts on my car since i don't feel like to go cheap with my car

if you can afford a TL then don't mess up it, just my

you wont mess it up with an intake...not everyone has $270 for an intake that doesnt give anymore gains than a $60. but if it makes you feel better that you have it - more power to you, cause I probably would buy the same thing if I had the money...but I dont

plus, its not like a TL is a Ferrari or something

The TL-S ROARS with the AEM CAI. I highly recommend it. The only downside is that it hisses at idel and gets louder when the AC or defogger is on.

Another option is to remove the resonator and stick a $40 K&N replacement in there.

AEM all the way!!! especially if you want the sound as well as the performance.. probably 8-12hp increase..

Injen are nice too... dont know if they roar but they make about the same with AEM..

Comptechs icebox looks like stock, its quiet, more expensive but makes the most HP I think about 10-15 or so not sure..

Well, it looks like i'll go with AEM. That's exactly what i want. I want my TL to ROAR when the Vtec kicks in. Woohoo! AEM! Not going to get it now though since it's winter and all, i'll wait for spring or something I'll get some TEINs while im at it.

AEM CAI is awesome for the TL-S, but even better is the AEM V2, too bad they dont make them for the TL-S .
