need help ASAP about 03 HU

i am thinking about changing my 00 head unit. My car has NAVI, and the question is if the 03 cd player will fit without any modifications to the wiring. I already read that it is a common swap but just want to make sure. And also are 03 HU all the same or they are different? I talked to a couple people about it and they say that 03 HU from a car without NAVI wont fit to a car with NAVI. Is it true?
I am confused and need help!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
Vadim

There is a difference between head units for navi and non-navi models. They look the same physically except for a different number in the upper right-hand corner of the cassette door. Navi models have the interface between the head unit and the navi so when the navi gives directions, the two front speakers are muted and the voice is played through the head unit. If you put a non-navi head unit into a navi model, you will lose the voice directions over the speakers.
