Need Help Asap!!!

OK, i started my non-navi to navi conversion, and its turnign out to be a complete ablortion. My kit came from a 99tl and i have a 00tl. This kit came with everything, including the 3 wire harnesses, but they dont work. So far there are two plugs that are different, and i dunno, so much more. Now what i really need is some wiring schematics from those who did the conversion, or to tell me specifically what harnesses and wires they spliced. I do not have the helms manual, and i dont know where to get one locally. My car is in about 300+ pieces and doesnt run, its my only car so i gotta get it running..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Have you seen this "D.I.Y. Non-Navi to Navi" thread?

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114084

There might be some help there.

Good Luck!

You can't just plug in the harness from the navi system. You have to splice the wires into the existing harnesses or re-pin the existing harnesses.

Wou are going to have to splice teh wires. Unless your car Came with navi there is nothing for the harness to plug into. There are acouple threads where acouple people did it. You are probably best off PMing one of them. You cant buy the helms book locally. You have to order it. http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage...=Google+Search

Is there anyone out there with the helms manual who can scan the wiring diagrams from a 99TL with navi and the same diagrams from a 00TL ????

I have all the wiring for a 99TL with navi, and im trying to isolate all the navi wiring and fit it into my 00 wiring. I desperately need this info tonight!!!!

Anyone who can help PLEASE!!!

unless the car came with navi the wiring for it wont be in the car (from my experiance in buying harnesses they are navi or non navi harnesses in the car).

I could if i was home but im out of town for a week or so so i cant.

Also i dont know where your running into problem. I just read the DIY and all the info you need is right there. It tells you where to hook up wires and where to conect.

well, i think i have all the wires figured out....at least theres a label on each one.... tomorrow i'll hook em up and give em some power and hope i dont fry the system

my only question though, is how does the nav unit control the blower speed if no wire splices into the harness that used to control the blower??? i'll just have to hook it all up and see what happens....eek

from what I remember, the plug that went to the non-navi ac unit now goes into the navi ac unit. I"ll assume you have both the navi screen and the AC control module.

well, i think i failed...... everything seems to work fine except the nav because i have a bad hard drive, but that can be fixed, i wanted the screed to work, which i think it did (at least the controls did)...however other things in the car were not working, and i fixed that (there were 2 harnesses swapped)...but now all my lights are on: abs, srs, battery, brake, tcs, and engine light came on and off....

now, i think all my connections were correct, but the only thing that i think might have screwed anything up is the VSS and the Charge signal. i read the charge signal was pin A1 (white/blue) on the guage cluster harness, and the VSS was pin A9 (blue/white) on the 32pin harness of the PCM...

i cut those out, and still all the lights are on....anyone encounter this and a fix???

perhaps anyone can check their helms and confirm my connections???

pull the clock backup fuse for ten min to reset the ecu to see if that clears your lights

the dealership cleared my SRS light, so thats gone. down to 2 more lights - BATT and BRAKE. they narrowed it down to the drivers side multiplex unit being bad. im having one come in tomorrow, with a gps antenna and i should be good to go. the only problem im having with the nav is the drive right now (damn 99 units) i still need to get the northeast files, but the unit sometimes cant read the drive. i'll have to do the little adapter and flash card fix for now....
