Hi guys,

I need some help from you guys that know how to do it.

My shift gate light is OUT. I mean when you turn on your light for night driving, all the lights should comes up (include the shift gate) but mine is just dark (you know, nothing)

No lights at P R N D5 D4 D3 2 1 or even SS mode + and -

I call the dealer they ask for $60. I think it's too much

What do you guys recommended me to do.

I'm in Socal (pasadena and Ontario) if anyone knows how to do it or live around I'll stop by and pay for your help.

Just remove the shifter and all of the neccessary parts and replace the bulb. Its pretty easy.

ps. you can get a regular bulb as a replacement... or a led replacement at http://autolumination.com/74.htm for $2.50 with different colors available. Im waiting for my led in the mail right now

 

lol. its funny how bad the dealership tried to rip you off.

itll take them no more than 3 minutes to fix it for you and they are charging you a full hour.

 

dealer shop rate is over 100 per hour at most places AND they have a min charge of 1/2 hour.
Thats why there is Acurazine!!

 

my dealer charges 120 an hour, i'm like....wtf you charge that much for, you pay your mechanic like 20 bucks an hour...

 

I didn't even remove my shiftknob to replace mine. Aside from a dome or map light, this is the easiest light to replace in the whole car.

 

ok i was trying to do the LED conversion and i had a really hard time removing the chrome plate, is there a certain technique im supposed to use?
