i know that many of you guys are partial to park ave over in maywood - i would consider going there if it really makes a difference but it is a bit out of the way for me. i am considering buying at montclair acura but i read a negative post about their service. i'm sure the area rep would have helped in that case. on the other hand i read a good report too (too easily planted).

just want to know if they are competent at all and if the service manager is ok to deal with. thanks for any input...

 

I bought my TL at Montclair Acura before I knew about Park Ave Acura. Their service is ok due to the one guy that is really helpful and nice (or else it would have sucked). Sorry but I can't remember his name.
But if you are going to buy a car there then I suggest Ed Simo (I think). He sold me my TL. He is very nice and he won't pressure you into anything you don't want to buy. The last time I stopped by he saw me and remembered me (2 years in between). So if you want, ask for Ed and mentioned my name "Binh with the hooked up TL" that referred you to him.

Yes, got my old accord, my bro's 2.5TL and my new TLS from Montclair Acura. And all of the 3 cars I dealt with Ed Simo. He is a really nice guy to work with. But the service is not bad. I never really had a problem with them, but I can't really compare to Park Ave since I never had the chance to take my service there.

 

Bought my TL-S from Wayne Acura in northern NJ. It was the easiest car purchase I ever made (in and out in 20 minutes thanks to the Fax Attack). Bought it for 31,200 w/navi, wheel locks, and mud guards. Brunswick Acura is owned by the same guy and is much closer to me, so that's where I go for service. Only had one oil change so far, so can't really judge the service yet. The loaner car sucked though (94 Integra)

 

Unless it's very inconvenient for you, I'd recommend Park Avenue Acura. The milage is probably not more than 10-15 miles between Montclair and Maywood. The Service Manager and one of the technicians are members of this board and seem more than willing to help solve problems. Should you decide to go there, talk to Richard Bruce in Sales (and, no, I'm not Richard Bruce )
