Need to clarify this

hey guys,

okay so I'm sold on the K&N filter, I will be getting one, and having it installed next oil change, probably sometime next week. One thing I'm not understanding it which oil type to use. I have my eye on Mobil 1 racing since it's been the most highly recommended, but I read somewhere to use the 0W-30 during winter months, and 5W-30 in the summer months???

is this correct? since winter is just around the corner, and this upcoming oil change will bring me into the deadest of winter, should I replace my oil with 0W-30 this time?

thanks guys.

Jeff stick to Mobil 1 SUper Syn 5W30. Cheap at Wally Mart sometimes on sale at Can Tire at around 26 bucks/ jug. If you do your own changes, you may even extend the interval.

And I heard Esso / Can Tire (same source) gas has some moisture content. A friend told me to stay away from it. Sunoco ethanol (10%) or even Shell is the best. Better mileage... IMO

If you read the box, Mobil recommends the use of 0W20 on our cars because we need to use 5W20. Just check it out next time you go buy your oil.
