Need clarification on HP for 99 Tl..!

Need clarification on HP for 99 Tl..!

i just want to make sure what's the hp and torque that the regular 99 tl makes? one place said the tl was 225hp and another say is 228...also anybody know the weight and how to performance some weight reduction....

225 hp for the J32A1.

Weight is at about 3450-3500 for a TL-P without Navigation.

I'm not 100% sure, but I know it's around 210 lb/ft. Sorry, can't remember the exact number.

225 HP for the '99 TL is what I am aware of.
Weight reduction: don't upgrade the size of your wheels and tires -- or if you do, pay the outrageous amount for lightweight racing wheels. Remember - when you increase the size of your wheels and tires, not only are you changing the dynamics of the gauges and aerodynamics (sometimes positively), you are also adding weight and making the car a little less fuel efficient....bigger tires --> uses more gas

So far when I've been on some websites to look into TL parts, they list two different numbers (such as the above) when you select the '99 TL V6. One of them is J32A1, and there is another that they usually list as well. What's the difference?

J32A1 is the engine code.

J-series 3.2L block A1. This engine powered the 3.2TL from '99 to '01. Then in '02 through '03, it powered the TL-P.

Type-S motor is designated as J32A2.


FYI, Accord engine (V6) is J30A1.



No clue as to why they would list two options for a '99 TL. There was only one engine for that year, along with '00 and '01.

Thanks man... now I get it! I didn't think there was more than one option either for the 99 - which is why I was so confused when I had to choose one on a scroll list of two choices! ...Thanks though!

The 99 -03 j32A2 block has 225 hp, 218 lb ft of tq.

Um, wrong.

First off, J32A2 wasn't even available in '99 through '01. And it has 260hp/232 lb-ft torque.

The 99-03 TL-P made 216 ft lbs of torque at the crank. End of story.

2000-2003 3.2TL-P: 225HP@5600rpm/216LBS@4700rpm
2002-2003 3.2TL-S: 260HP@6100rpm/232-LBS@3500-5500rpm
