Navigation update?

Hey guys is there anyway I can update the maps on the navigation on our cars? Is it just as simple as putting in a new dvd?

Yes. Beware, the newer year DVDs have an old lady with bronchitis, as opposed to the original young lady.

this is where you buy them
http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT.../Default-Start

need cars VIN to get the right version for your year/model

then its turn key to ON- press eject on nav disc-remove old disc, insert new disc.
Have car parked with an open sky view--
gps reboots with new disc and ALL your old info--past trip addresses was saved

NOTE just ckd the site and thru june 30 2012 they are offering the 2012 edition for 99$ regular 149$
guess its time to order one,,been talking about it but 150 was too much,,100 is closer to ok
you can buy used ones online a few years/versions old--for 50 bucks
but it may not contain updates for your area
shoot- now I really am going to order a new one,,tired of streets and areas unknown, changes to freeway on-ramps incorrect,,guess 6 years is a long time between

If the voice is unbearable, it has a volume control--hope they left that feature!

Hey if this is the case - Buy the new disc on sale for $99, then sell your old one to someone for ~ $50. You net the purchase price out to $49!

edit - or wait, is the original one too old to sell?

Do you really think anyone would buy an original map disc for $50? No one would take it for free, because their car already came with one.

Yes, someone would buy one for $50 because they may have a really outdated one and the new updates may not pertain to his/her area... so it's just like getting the latest for half the price...

Some people always have to have the latest greatest, so their junk is someone else's treasure...

I just want the img file lol

Read with more attention please. I said no one would buy an ORIGINAL disc for $50. You can't be more outdated than your original disc.

Best case scenario: you have a 2000 TL and you can get an 2003 TL original disc. That would give you a 3 year update for $50. Seeing that I got an 08/09 update for $40, that's a shitty deal.
