Angry NAVIGATION SYSTEM lacks many cities' streets

Why is it that my brand new 2003 Type S has a navigation system that only has roads in major cities? Does anyone know if there is a more current DVD for sale?

I am in NC and it gets frustrating when I go anywhere besides Raleigh, Charlotte and cities that size as all the navigation system seems to be able to do is get my to the other cities but has no clue about finding the streets there.

Thanks:wow:

MY 03's navi system has the same problem with smaller cities in CA. It will get me to the small town and then I am on my own. The disc can only hold so much data - the manual discusses this.

ahha its not that the disc can hold so much data, its cuz the software was not made yet. they will come out with a new version in the FALL with 95 percent coverage. it just takes time to program all of this.

Thumbs up

Nick,,,right you are. DVD was made to hold a whole lot,,it is the CD system that sucks. My DVD version is the most recent but that was a 2001 strike date.

I will be the first on my block to order the new one when it comes out.

Yep, agreed. Many parts of the US are not mapped. I wonder who actually provides the map data, because it is one of the most lacking I've seen in any GPS system.
