I wanted to put an aftermarket Navigation system in my 03 TL. I wanted to put the ACura one in but the dealer said they do not install this because of electrical problems. I'm not a big fan of the cheesy aftermarket ones that don't look like they fit with the rest of the car. Does anyone know any good ones for TL's and was my dealer full of it about not being able to put in a Acura one?

Yeah contact Mr. , or look on ebay cuz I thnk he has it listed there too. But.. when u install the navigation unit into ur TL, dont you also have to replace the climate control unit now? Cuz on the Navi TL's, our climate control takes the place of the CD Tray.
Just wondering? This whole thing must be expensive to do.

Well I've been considering this as well; I bought my '03 Type-S used and it doesn't have Navi. I saw a OEM set on eBay that included the stereo/climate control head unit. I'm pretty handy with electronics, but I want to read about installing it before I commit. However, I haven't been able to find anyone that's done this.

I have the entire system.. Screen, Dash, Navi Brain, AC controls, Antenna, Entire wire harness off a 02 TL ( same as 03 ), Navi Code and DVD 2.04 or 2.05... Everything plug right in and everything is set for it... The only thing that you have to do it work with the wire for the navi screen.. The AC controls use the same harness that the non navi use. Everything is plug and play til you get to the screen... If you have some knowledge of car electronic it is very possible. I was going to do it but I need the money right now...

i heard it was pretty hard to install the oem one..or i would have bought setup....but i went with an all alpine system instead...it was easy....its like 5-7 wires that you need to hook up....and the rest is running wires...of course you need to get a screen to put it on....but you can get the alpine in dash screen for 800....with the metra kit...and you'll also need a cd changer because theirs no cd player with the flip out screen....but if you get all alpine everything will be integrated into the one screen, navi cd changer and whatever other alkpine thing you add....this was the route i was gonna go...it'd be like 2500....its more expensive then if you got it from factory....this was what i was gonna do...but i found a better way to make it look better...i'll post pics if you want....check my mod list and you'll see all the things i added to make it better then factory

I'm sure if you had all the necessary items..it wouldn't be too hard. It'd just take some time to put in all the items...not to mention the new dash *took me forever to get it off* :p

From what everyone is saying it seems almost like a waste of time and money to try and put a navi in. The dealer won't install the OEM one and I do it myself it will void the warranty. The aftermarket ones seems to mess with the CD Player in terms of only being able to have a single disc? Anymore helP?

You cant be scared of ruining the warranty because everything that you put on your car will ruin warranty... If you put the oem navi in they might not even notice that was put in later...
