Angry Navi Update

Hello, anyone know if I can get my Navigation Disk Upgraded? I have a 99 TL That has the old hard drive type disk. Supposedly there is an update the dealers can dlownload to it as of 12/2002. I heard that the dealers do it, but I have pretty much called every dealer in NJ and they all either dont do it, dont have the computer to do it or Computer is down. Anyone know anything?

not worth your time - check on Ebay for the newer DVD systems that are used in the '00-'03 TL. The unit will swap right in where your older hard drive system was and you will have the entire US on 1 dual layer DVD with many more features - basically a much better buy than trying to update your hard drive system (they quit updating those a few years back anyway - so the most current hard drive is not current at all).

I paid less than $300 for my DVD unit off ebay - dont even ask the dealers - they cost a bunch there. good luck

Cool. So if I get the new DVD unit Its an even swap? Will the cables hook right in? Does anything change in the Dash screen?

Also does the DVD unit fit in the same holder as the old one?

Thanks for the info

there may not be one on now - but you will find one soon - also the most updated disk for our cars is version 2.20

you can get a unit out of any 2nd gen TL or CL or the MDX (but I dont know the exact years - mine was out of the MDX and it is the exact same). Just check the serial # from the unit and call a dealer to see what car it could be from.
