Navi Questions

I'm considering the navi for my 03 and wanted to know the following...

1) Is there an option to see the actual route instead of just waiting to see the turn by turn on the map?

2) Can you set the map not to flip around as you make your turns? I like to see north always up top.

Thx!

1) Yes, you can Zoom out and see the whole route, or move joystick to see the whole route, or get a list of street names+distances.

2) Yes, it is an option - you can choose, until you zoom out too far (I think 2 or 5 miles per 1/2 inch) - then it is always the way you like it - North is up top.

I believe you can also have a map north oriented (on any scale) if you touch "north" arrow. You can undo this mode by touching "north" arrow again.

greg is correct, plus, if you just want to see the route rather than the turn by turn, just click "map/guide" and it will switch over.

Navi questions always get a lot of replies.. we're very passionate about our navi's

Another option to see a route before hitting the turn is to tap the joystick down.. that will show you the next turn. Keep hitting down to go through all turns. It will go back to the current turn after a few seconds.

Oooh Mentl, I didn't know that one! (I love this forum!) I'm guessing that I must be in "Turn" mode when I tap the joystick down, eh?

Thanks,

V.

Yes.

That'll give us something to do while waiting for Acura to release the next map update

I dunno about yours, but on my navi (2002) touching the North arrow has no effect on map orientation when map is zoomed out to 2 miles or greater...

Correct, you can only change the map orientation when you're zoomed in under the 2 mile scale. Outside of that north is always oriented up.
