Question Navi question

Im a new member and a new owner of a 99 TL. The question I have is, My TL doesn't have the Navi system in it but I found out where I could get a used one out of a totaled TL real cheap. Can I just add that navi system into mine? What do I need to do? Thanks!!!!!

No you could not add the factory Nav into a non Nav car.
The dash is not the same because of the screen.
The A/C & manual fan controls are also incorperated in the factory Nav screen. The best thing to do is go aftermarket Nav.
This question has been asked many times but it can't be done.
If it could the cost would be $$$$$$$$$$$. The factory Non Navi cars & Navi cars differ at the dash. The 99 TL you have above the radio has CD holder climate controls knobs for heat A/C.
You also have your clock, hazard flasher button near the clock.
With a Navi TL our hazard flasher button is located on the left hand side & its a larger button. Where you have your CD holder above the radio is where our diigtal readout for climate control, rear deffoger, defrost, auto buttons are located. The Clock for the Nav cars is located in the srceen. They have 2 different dash set-ups on each car. Think about the wires behind the dash & in the engine. Thats why I say aftermarket Navi if you wan't one. Its just not possible to put factory Nav System in a Non Nav car.

there are also lots of places in the car where there are "things" installed for the GPS positioning.

The NAV system is EXTREMELY complicated. Aftermarket NAV's are MUCH simpler.
