i bought a dvd navi unit(may 2002) it came with a 2001(version2.05)disc.When power up it tells me "error reading disc(incorrect dvd disc)please consult your dealer.My question is this a disc problem or the unit is bad,because i thought the disc was backward compatible 1999-2003.Please advise.Thanks in advance.

 

Ironically, I got that error for the first time yesterday. I have an 02 TLS with version 2.04. I just turned off the car and restarted it and it came up fine. My next step would have been to clean the disc. I'm new to this whole navi thing, so I'm trying to learn as much as possible!

 

ok,sorry i took so long to post my own results,ok here is what i did, hold down the menu,map/guide and cancel buttons and turn the ignition on and the hidden menu will pop up scroll and look for "force download" on the bottom left of the screen and select and it will update the system, thanks for all the reply.
