NAVI problem in NY
I wonder if New Yorker TL drivers have this problem , when I drove through a road with skycrapers in around, my car icon in the navi was misplaced on someplace else in the map, sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right of the original position or even too far back of the original, the location of the icon was somehow corrected (replaced back to its appropriate position in the map) after I reached a waypoint and asked to make a turn or keep straight. I checked the signal and it was a solid triple green bars.
Apparently since then this problem recurred more often to me after I got back to Boston , not every time I used it , but it's noticable enough that it's more frequent now than before , also one time occurence it happened in a wide open highway (I-87). Please advice thanks.

I drive in NY/NJ with a navi equipped TL-S and MDX and haven't had the problems you're experiencing. Even if you lose the sattelite link, the navi continues to calculate your position based on speed and distance so tall buildings shouldn't make that much of a difference. When going through the Hudson River tunnels there's no sattelite transmission and my cars still calculate accurately and don't have to recalculate when they reconnect to the sattelites on the other side of the tunnel.
I was complaining to my Acura dealer about the same thing... the nav is REALLY bad in NY city, Manhatten and all... The service manager said that a lot of people complain about the same thing but there's nothing they can do with it. The NAV is always readjusting itself, jumping streets, on the wrong road, etc... maybe there's just too much interference in NY.
You can all but forget about trying to map a trip in Manhatten or the surrounding areas, it's VERY hard to follow because it's almost always on the wrong street.
I'm just glad I don't go there too often.
