Navi not powering up

Has anyone had intermittent problems with the Navigation System on 2003 TL not
starting up when you turn the engine on? The dealer replaced the hard disk but
we are still experiencing the problems. Their next plan is to replace the
display. Is this a good idea?

Why wouldn't it be? If that's what it takes to fix the problem.

You mean the DVD, right, and not the hard disk?

Navi problems

They don't know if replacing the display will fix it. They basically can't figure anything out. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to replace the display because they may have to take out the dash to do it and some things just never go back together like they did at the factory. But then again, I could be wrong. I was hoping to see whether anyone else has had the problems and found a solution.

Sorry...my mistake. I don't mean "hard disk," I mean "hard drive." The first time we took it in they didn't do anything because they couldn't replicate it. The second time they tried replacing the hard drive. The third time--they are going to try replacing the display. They also grounded the electrical wires that were making the stereo controls on the steering wheel go haywire. That problem seems to be fixed and has had no effect on the navigation power problem.
