Navi after wreck

Got nailed on rear drivers door by an Explorer. Caved in the door so bad that there was less than an inch of clearance between the inner and outer skins. Miraculously, window didn't break. Frame must have given some because the front quarter kinked at the top of the wheel well. Anyway, about $5000 estimate before they start cutting. On the way to the shop after, navi guide was still working but couldn't calculate any routes. Showed "error could not calc. route, please try from another location". Great tech. at awesome shop that I unfortunately have alot of exp. with got promoted to in house adjuster and is giving it the VIP treatment. Called day after I dropped it off. He was lost and frustrated after full day of contacts @ Acura, dealer techs and all his electronics contacts weren't any help. Seems like some on this site know more about the navi than dealer techs. When shop is done with body work (est. 13 days), Acura's coming to get it. Hoping they just replace it, with update DVD of course. Anybody have experience with navi problems after a wreck?
Thanks in advance for any help.

TLs do not have a frame. For the Navi, I suggest disconnecting then reconnecting it from power and forcing it to re-establish connection to the satellites.

doesnt matter what they call it unibody? frame? it still does the same thing, it adds structural support and can get bent.

its my guess that teh impact damaged either a wire or the navi unit

Your antenna is probably messed up from the impact. When I got a new navi unit put in my dad's car at the dealership, they pushed too hard and busted the antenna (go figure), and as I was leaving the dealership, it said I was a block away from the White House (I live in Michigan ).
