Question Navi ?

Couldn't find an answer in previous threads...

I bought my '02 used, and don't have the NAVI codes to input my info. Can anyone out there point me the right thread, or tell me how to do it? TIA

Navi and radio codes: Gotta call a dealer. They are specific to the car.

Thanks
Figured that might be the case - I guess the dealers can override the previous owner's PN, etc ?

have you checked the glove box. open it from the drivers side and it should facing the drivers seat. That was where mine was. The dealer will charge you money i believe, same as the radio code.

Navi Code

I have the same situation. I just bought my 2002 TL, and I also don't have the previous owner PIN. I called the dealer yesterday, and they told me the code should be in the glove box. If it is not, they will have to remove the dash, and get the number from the back of the system. This is the same situation with the radio...should I have the need.

You are confusing 2 different numbers.

1. Code number that needs entered after the NAVI or radio is disconnected from power then powered back on.

2. PIN number the previous owner entered to secure access to address book in the NAVI.

You're referring to the PIN, the dealer is referring to the power up code.

I believe the PIN can be erased by reloading the software from the disk/DVD, which also erases all address book entries. Can anyone confirm this?

Mike,
You're exactly right....it's the PIN code I want to erase. I hope someone can tell me how to do that (if it's not in the manual)

From the acuranavi.com site

I forgot my PIN or have a previously owned vehicle with an existing PIN. How can I retrieve an old PIN or enter a new one?

An old PIN cannot be retrieved. If you forget your PIN, have a vehicle with a previous PIN, or wish to enter a new one, your Honda or Acura dealership will have to install it and reset the system for you.

Note : A PIN is optional. If you decide to use one, it's advisable that you record it somewhere.

the pin for the navi can be override by the code for the navi. Like stated above the code and serial for the navi should be in the glovebox or in your owners manual casing.

to get the radio code for me, all I had to do was remove the woodgrain on the passengerside and the serial was right next to the radio. Once you have the serial just give it to acura and they will get you the code.
