Nav is "jumpy"

As some of you may remember, I installed the OEM Nav in my non Nav TL. Well, I am still having some problems. All the wiring and operations work fine with a couple exceptions. The DVD unit that I had before the one I have now was jumpy. For example when it would say how many miles till next manuever, the #'s would jump back and forth by .3...so like 3.7, 3.6, 3.7, 3.6, 3.5, 3.7 and so on. And I could actually see the my "car" on the map moving back a little and then would move forward. I brought it to the dealer and they said that the internal gyro was bad. So, now I bought another one and it is doing the same thing. I am looking for other people to tell me this is not normal before I see about getting my $$ back. I wouldn't mind so much but the lady will repeat herself like 5 times when I get on the highway saying "drive approx 4 miles"...it's gets really annoying. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Try resetting the navi by the hidden menu and double check you speed sensor wire. if the VSP wire is not connected to thr correct position it will not work and will jump around.

I know what the problem is; it is NOISE on your power line. Did you run the power line with your audio video lines? If so, you are getting noise to your video signal. Remeber, alternator generates alot of noise. What you should do is sparate the power line and use shielded cable.

What happens with shielded cable is that you will clean signal and the noise will be grounded via the shield. You should never combine audio-video signals with power. Also, you should always use shield cables for audo-video signals.

To summerize, I believe if you use a sparate shielded cable/ wire for you power line then they jumpy problem will be resolve.

REMEMBER, this is only a suggestion.

Good luck
