My UA5 Type-R Build

My UA5 Type-R Build
So I wrote a reintroduction in the introduce yourself section. So I won't tell that story again, but here is a summary of how we got here. I bought my first Honda in 2010 1993 EG8. After moving from Tennessee back to Virginia. Bought a LS Swap then turbo kit then in 2012 my 3month trip to Cali turned into me living there. So I sold the car and all things Honda that went with it. From 2012 to now I've just been working and keeping a eye out for a Em1, DB8, or EJ6. Didn't end up getting of though because of a deal I could not pass up. Truth be told all I wanted was a Honda product with a manual transmission.
The car I bought was my good friends car, he asked me did I want it because he going to give to cash for cars or a junk yard. He told me it needs a water pump, and a junk yard wouldn't give him but $400 for it and he rather see it go to me so if I want it, let him know. This was all a surprise to me because I thought he traded the car when he got his New Car. I told him hell yeah I want it, me and him have worked together for to years since then I had helped him put in HID, do a oil change, and knew what condition the car was in. Then he told me give him $300 and it's mine. Needless to say it was nothing to think about there are Honda shells going for no less then $500 and I drove this car home so I know there isn't anything really wrong with the car. So I'm back in the game, and honestly this was the best $300 I've ever spent.
This will be made into a fun daily, I will be making this car my own. No real theme to this project, I'm just going with what I like. I will tell you this though, 6speed coming soon! Sorry I have to do it!
The day I bought the car. A little dirty but car is in exterior is in great shape for its age. Some dents, dings and scratches here and there. Still not bad for $300 lol
Car exterior is in great shape.
Interior need some work. Its about a 7 out of 10.
My favorite part of this car.

Thanks, @princelybug
To everybody on this forum feel free to tell me about all things Acura. Again I am new here, I know about Honda's but not much about the car I actually bought. If you modded the Honda Saber Type-R how would that look? (I know there is no such thing so I'm making one.) Well we are about to find out. That is the theme I'm going for so we shall see. I will be mixing and matching OEM Honda parts but don't panic I'm not into weird body kits or any of that stuff. (To each there own but not my thing). Just going classy JDM so don't be surprised how many different random Honda parts you see on this car. Have it all planned out, parts will be from Integra's, S2000's, Civic's etc. Did I mention I'm saving up for a full j32a2 6speed swap. Fun times to ahead!!!

The 6 speed manual swap is extremely difficult and time consuming not to mention you have to find an 03 CLS for a good price (imo under 1000 wrecked).
Good luck to your project! You can also consider swapping an 06-07 Accord trans out and not having to worry about the trans problems for a long time.

Congrats on the purchase.
I can relate to the joy of spending less than $1k on a car with lots of potential.
I spent $650CDN on my TL Type S A-Spec.
I have a bunch of the OEM 6spd parts, as well as the CL-S 6spd shifter, if you are interested.
It's packed up in a box, still from when it was shipped to me.
Can send you a link to a thread with pics of the parts if you are interested.

Car is in pretty good condition, but on the flip side of that the car has 258,xxx miles. So I rather then just get the transmission I'd just swap it. I'm putting as many new parts on this car as possible I don't want to have to worry about for a very long time. Plus I got the money so fuck it! Lol

Thanks, see I'm a very lazy when it comes to looking for stuff it gets to a point where I just take the easy way out. I live 3miles for Hmotoronline so rather then keep hunting for a deal I'm just going to buy the whole CL Type-S swap for $3,600 and call it a day. I have other parts to hunt for and try to save. I'm trying to get this car on the road already. I promised myself I'm not driving it again until it's a 6speed.

Thanks, yeah I might need it a little later. I just don't to buy any other parts until I buy the swap. (My Eyes are on the prize).

Welcome to the forums man! Car looks great and can't wait to see how your project comes along.
btw, if you are doing the 6spd swap, I'm selling the trans and other 6spd parts you may need for the swap. Check the "Black Market".

Thanks for the welcome. Just checked out your black market post...nice! The transmission in my car is perfectly fine it was rebuild in 2010 I have the paper work on it. That's if you were still looking for a Automatic transmission to trade for your 6speed. We might be able to work something out.

Just a little update: Car is now running, I replaced the water pump, timing belt and hydraulic assembly, battery, motor mount, power steering pump, and fuel pump relay. I figured while the car was down I might as well give the car what it needs. So now I get to buy the fun stuff! Coilovers will probably be my next purchase.
