2 weeks ago today my girl friend and I were involved in a very bad accident. It was raining really hard and I was driving on a snake road that leads to my neighborhood, when I came to the last bend in the road before the turn into my neighborhood, and thats when I felt my car start to lose control. Ive seen at least 40 cars scrash in this same spot and I did everything I could to try and regain control of the car but it was just too wet outside. My car wound up sliding into a bank of trees and the trees wound up smashing my door in all the way past the steering wheel and pushing my seat into the center console. It also broke my steering column. It is really a miracle I am still alive. I received a broken nose, a severe concussion, dislocated finger, and split my forehead and eye brow cut open ( i got stiches for this). My girlfreind was perfectly fine except for a lacerated liver due to the seatbelt(she was in the hospital for a week but is doing much better now). I am really thankful to be alive, they had to cut the roof off of my car to get me out. I will post pictures once I get a hold of my sister's camera (thats where the pics r). After seeing the pictures or even the car noone believed anyone made it out of the car alive. It was pretty bad. The 2nd gen Tl side of the forum has been great and it really sucks not having a 2nd gen anymore, but I will always check thru here.

and i was in a wreck with a friend before in his vette.. he came out walking and had no seat belt on... i had my seatbelt on and i was in the hospital for 3 days for a broken collerbone and dislocated shoulder .. damn things

 

Thnks man, yea those seatbelts hurt like hell. I had mine on and my chest has been hurting extremely badly where it caught me. thankful for it tho.

 

you can use that sunburn aloe stuff on the seatbelt burn. it almost looks like hair gel. it takes away that burning and irritation.

First & foremostI want to thank everyone for their repsonses & wishes. This is one of the rasons I love this side of the forum in paticular. I feel like we are more so a family than just a car forum.

Yes I had full coverage but when I bought the car I had the Acura Care warranty added, so i may be sllightly upside down. But I also had a brand new engine put in a year ago exactly & a brand new trasnmission about 1.5 years ago all installed by acura. So I have given my insurance company the receipts for that stuff & hopefully it will bring me closer to payoff.

The crazy thign is I sllowed down right to about 20mph at that spot becuz I know how people spin out there but I know to go even slower now.

definitely not the case, i loved my car ALOT but lif is so much more important. I was raised not to cherish material things over life, love, & hapiness. Ive been praying to God everyday for thanks especilly becuz my aunt died the day after my accident. She was my mothers sister & was like a 2nd mother to me. Life is too precious

Ive put ALOT of work i this car. I lietrally had blood & sweat go into my work. Everything from the custom projectors, to custom suede headliner, kit, rims, all of my custom exhaust work & other mods. Im sad to see it go but its not the end of the world. Even tho I was a llittle frustrated I couldnt get the mods off

thinkng about an 08 accord coupe v6 6speed, 3rd gen tl type s 6spd, or 3rd gen tl aspec 6spd. Its all gona come down to final price & test drive.

No the sc was sold a little while ago & I had a bunch of parts for the 6spd swap but if my cuzn doesnt want them I will be parting out. Ill def keep my azine fam updated. Pics of the car will come l8r 2day

good to hear everyone came out safe and sound.... i also totalled my first tl so i know where you coming from it was a silver 2nd gen and i was about halfway done modding it.... but then slam... all gonee... no seatbelt 5 car pileup hit the back of an mercedes ML truck doin about 35, 40.. dead impact.. wasnt wearing a seatbelt... walked out with minor injuries bruised nose and fat ass lip..... these 2nd gens are truely one of the best built cars and one of the safest ive ever seen... everything crushed and crumpled to prevent impact to the occupants... although you had a different scenario, the TL def helped save your life... have seen alot of other cars that cant take a hit well at all....

all in all dont worry bout the car... youll be back and better then ever before you know it... good to hear your both safe and still with us!
