My time has come... tranny went!
Yep... it all started by 2nd-3rd slipping, then it would slip when taking off in 1st... then it started to act up in every gear.
I barely made it home from my last ride..
I'm waiting for an update from my dealership to know if they will cover it or not, even though my time has expired. A new replacement not covered by warranty is 4000$ (CDN)....
I found a used tranny for 1500$ at a junkyard... I'll see what happens...
Right when I was trying to sell the car, so cool...

why didnt you get it in when it started the 2nd 3rd gear issues?
The trans prob is so well described on azine that a prompt trip to the dealer for help is in order- I realize canada is different but waiting till the car wont drive is a dangerous situation to you- the operator of the vehicle
If acura wont go 100 prcent- they will often go major portion on them- you pay labor to install- type of deal.

Doh- you are a 99, well past limit on time for sure so dont expect much
You can get your trans rebuilt for about 2500-2800
the junkyard one may die soon- its a total unknown,, versus fixing up yours that lasted a long time.

6sp swap is not an option.
i could hardly find a 4-sp tranny around here... i dont even want to think about finding a 6-sp around here... + the engine, no way.
btw, i got a call back from my dealership, they wont replace my tranny. I'm going to call Honda Canada tomorrow or next week and hope they do something.. otherwise i'll get the one i found at the junkyard and dont use the car until i sell it, to be sure the "new" one doesnt fail...
POS car.

wow, i have a 99 too, and my trans was rebuilt back in 2005 with all new seals and parts, i think it had failed because the origional owner of my car was pulling something cuz their was a trailer hitch on it wich i later removed after i got it

You can go to a trans rebuiler shop and have it redone nicely for about 2500
the 4 speeds were far better that the 5 speeds in reliabilty
Thats a better thing than risking a junkyard trans- that will also be from 99!
Being able to offer the buyer a fresh rebuild with only proper break in miles and a transferable warranty will increase what value is left in the car
that my opinion

I'll check that out, thanks!
I'm gonna shop around for rebuilds too... I'll try to get a ballpark price and take a decision from there.
