stick with quality projectors, TSX, TL, S2000.

halogen projectors would not be good at all.

 

Something looks off. I think you need to raise your passenger side just a little bit. May be its just me but park your car at a level spot and do the adjustments against a flat wall, rotational alignment looks spot on

JNC, yeah, passenger is a bit low.. It's hella hard to do adjustments because the only place I have a dark area is in my garage.

Yup, like Tien said, stick to the quality projectors, or else you're just wasting your time. Coming from the stock HID setup in our TL's, and going with halogen, you're going to want to smash your headlights in cuz it's not going to be any improvements, IMO.

 

if you got about 210 to spend, i think you can get your hands on the TSx with D2s bulbs. You can search Hidplanet. they got a lot of TSX for sale right now. They go for about 150..plus 65 for the bulbs on ebay..then you're set. Tsx, bang for it's buck IMO

 

Now to find someone who is willing to do the retrofit for me......

this is all nice, but how do they look on a car. I do like the output, but if it looks jacked up when its on a car, its a waste of money and time. So I guess I am trying to ask for picutres of your car haha

Damn JnC and MyTalizaS3.2 mad props to both of you for doing this project. JnC your headlight project looks amazing, I wish I had the skills to convert my headlights like that cuz I can only imagine how sick it would look when it's installed on your ride.

deuce, yeah, i can still align them with a screwdriver. But the thing is that you can't do it with a screwdriver. You have to use a 10 MM socket. But the shit is that you can't adjust the IN and out aiming because there's just no room. Which, I think is a load of crap. So when i do need to adjust just a bit, I have to take the bumper off. I know that other cars can be adjusted with a phillips screw driver and also a socket. With my headlight, it's only a socket.

 

the projectors are mounted onto the reflector housing, which is connected to the actual housing that has the two screws used to aim and align the headlights. There's four parts to the headlights, the front lense, the back housing, and the inside reflector housing. Attached to the front lense is the housing that people paint to make it black housed.

 

I adjust my headlights all the time with a extra long phillips screwdiver without taking my bumper off.I can't post in any pics for you b/c my car has been at the interior shop for 2 weeks.

 

umm use those bendy socket wrench, with a 10mm socket to adjust. the one that twist one way, and clicks the other. i'm not sure of the technical name, but that's what i used.

yup, the bolt that your using to adjust them with right by that you will see a little slot to slide the screwdriver in.the screwdriver turns the teeth back and forth (up&down).

 

i know what you are talking about, but that thing that turns, it doesn't have teeth's. it's a 10 mm socket bolt.

too bad projector retrofits look better on 02-03 headlights than 99-01~ argh!

 

i'm pretty sure the 99-01's will look good as well.

deuce, i took a loook at my lights today and only the inside bolts have the teeth. the one that allows you to adjust in and out doesn't have it. that's what I was talking about, poor design. so therefore, you can't adjust the in and out without taking off the headlight.

yeah, i use that to adjust up and down, but left and right alignment isn't possible.

thats so weird b/c we both have 02-03 body so why would it be different

 

they did a good job on mounting my projectors so it's wasn't to hard to work with. I took my car to the back of a store with a big wall and back the car (20-30 feet not sure) so I could line them up.I lined mine up so the headlights come together to make one step.once everything lines up and the beam is high enough I tighten everything up.you have to back the car up enough to where the steps in the beams are right on top of each other so then all you have to do is adjust up or down and then you have one beam with a smooth cut off.I hate the way they look when you pull right up to a wall or someone bumper it looks like it not lined up but that's they way they are. I love the way it looks when your just driving down the road and you see that one step

 

yeah, it's pretty sick. did they color mod ur projectors? Meaning making the cutoff having more color.

 

at 25 feet, the distance between the middle of each cutoff should be about three to four feet away from each other..

Nice work! This is a pretty awesome mod...now, I'm thinking about doing this as a little project for the summer months!

What did you use for the shrouding around the projectors?

 

i used a chrome flange from ACE hardware and painted a flash sheet to cover everything up
