Talking My First Real Mod

This is going to be my first real mod. I have a 99tl, and I already chromed out the shift plate, now I am ready to take it a step further.

I am thinking of doing one of the following:

1) H&R Sports Springs
2) Comptech/Neuspeed Sways
3) AEM CAI

Can't figure which one I want to do first. Any ideas?

I wanna know whether or not aftermarket springs will damage the stock shocks. I've heard that because the aftermarket springs are shorter than the stock shocks, and thus the shocks will bend or get damaged. can some1 fill me in for this one??

they wont damage the shocks but will shorten the life span of them...you should put the springs on and then when the shocks go, get Koni's

This is how you can tell - press down hard on each corner of your car with both hands (corner of each hood and corner of each trunk - and try not to dent your car! :p), and watch/feel the rebound. With good shocks, pushing down on car, the rebound will only be one (ie: goes down and bounces back up, and stops). If if bounces up and down a few times, it means your shocks are blown and needs replacement. Try this test on a new car at the dealer, and you will see/feel the difference between new shocks and your shocks. When replacing shocks, always try to replace all 4 at the same time; it is not recommended to change only a pair or just one shock due to safety reasons.

I agree, however some people on this board feel that Konis with H&R springs don't go well together. Konis are great shocks, but it may not be the best match if you have H&R Sports springs. It seems that Koni shocks go well with H&R OE springs only.

I'll vote for the CAI. Nothing like the sound of the CAI when VTEC kicks in.:wow:

I personally think Tokico would be a good match. But some people here think Tokico sucks. I had Tokicos on my old Integra, no problems or complaints.
