Smile My First Mod

Just performed my first mod today on my 2003 TLS-Navi!

Dropped in the K&N filter.

I am still in my break-in period so I have not really pushed the car, but she is enjoying her newly improved breathing ability!

I am told I will not have to refresh it for quite some time... Is everyone in agreement with that statement?

CAI or a regular drop-in K&N is always a good first mod. They last a hella long time. Check it/clean it every oil change though.......but that's not even necessary. I'm probably gonna be dropping my TL w/ some Comptech springs next.

I would like to do CAI or Axle back next.

With the Axleback mufflers, I am unable to determine whether or not I would need new pipes as well to see any performance gain.

The Comptechs or HKS does not require new pipes because it only replaces your muffler and tips. Reason being is because the pipes on the TL/CL are efficient as it is and any bigger pipes would result in loss of back pressure thus loss in hp/tq. The hp gain is in the vincinity of 1-2hp. The main reason you would want the exhaust is pretty much for looks and sounds.
