My dealer pissed me off!!!!!!!

Brought my car in a couple weeks ago because my car was pulling to the left and I told them I needed an alignment. So I drop my car off and a service technician pulls up in my car and tells me to jump in. We go for a ride and as we are going down the road he proceeds to show me that the car does not need alignment and that all was need was some air in one of the tires. He tells me that they hardly have to do any alignment jobs on TLS's. So all they do is put some air in the tires and do not even check the alignment. I left and once I got back on the highway I would put my steering wheel directly in the middle and it clearly was pulling to the left. I'm taking my car in for another problem this week. Should I tell them that I NEED an alignment and not to put air in the tire again.?

Well I brought it to the dealer because it's supposed to be underwarranty. I don't wanna be shelling out $60 for an alignment when it's covered.

I highly doubt tire alignment is covered under warranty. Have you checked to make sure?

they said it was covered as long as I didn't hit any pot holes or curbs.

I would go back and this time take one of the mechanic to the freeway and show him that the car is indeed pulling to the left.
Good luck!!
Just like any other problems, they wont fix it if they cant find it or you wont show it to them.

How would they know if you hit any pot holes or curbs? It would be your word against theirs right?

I doubt its covered by warranty thats why they don't want to do it. Alignment only takes about 45 minutes, but I'm sure they would rather just throw some air in your tire and send you on your way. Sounds like the dealer is screwing yet another person

I had the same problem.

When I bought the car new, the steering was slightly misaligned. The first "fix" the dealer did was that they rotated the tires and said that it fixed the problem. It didn't. On my second visit they said that nothing can be done, that the alignment cannot be done absolutely precisely because there are some discrete steps how the steering can be aligned. I asked at this forum and got helpful responses that it is a nonsense. I came back to the dealer and on my 3rd visit they finally properly aligned the steering and it is fine now.

Why would the dealer turn down money? If you ask for an alignment, they should do it. How strange....

So much for goodwill at Acura, although in their defense it would be kinda difficult to get them to do a free alignment when the car has more than let's say 10K miles on it unless you can prove that the misalignment was due to a defect in parts and/or workmanship.
