hmm, did he buy the car or you? If you bought it then he shouldnt have anything to say. BUT if he bought it then its his choice. Gotta repect the elders.

Dude, how old are you? I'm guessing young enough you feel that way. Why fvck up your car, isn't it your car? I'm guessing you didn't pay for it, otherwise ahh nevermind. Destroying the engine would cost your "family" dollars! Have some respect dude. Chill out.
Get some articles on the intake and have your dad read them em. And tell him you love how fast the "noise" makes you feel, and that it's ok for the car

Not a good idea, especially towards your Father.

By the way, who paid for the car??? Just curious.

Dude, whatever you decide to do, dont beat on your car. Its not worth it. Trust me, when you later on decide you want to take care of your car, you will regret what you have done in the past.

My dad bought the TL for me and when I was debating whether or not to get an exhaust, I knew he would not like it so I didn't. I am lucky enough that my dad bought me my car. I would not fuk it up because I am mad because not only will it hurt the car, it will cost you $$$ in the long run.

From what you posted, I find it hard to believe you paid even $20k for your car.

Go to the K&N website and show your dad the advantages of the cotton type air filter (gas milage, filtration, maybe you should leave the power benefits out ). If that doesnt work, then its time for a Comptech Icebox, he shouldnt notice the difference.

I guess [VTEC]TL and I are lucky since our parents dont complain as much. I told my dad Im going to get a new exhaust system for my car and he didnt care since it was my money. If your dad gives you crap do what I do, start talking with technobable so he wont understand what you are talking about and show him "scientific research".

If you knew Frank, you would see it is probably true. If he says he paid that much for it, I believe him.

Don't do anything now that you'll regret later (it's only an intake).

$28K (cash plus $8K BMW trade-in) for a 2000 TL--if it was bought in 2000, then I can see him paying $20K cash + trade for it.

Unless I'm reading it wrong or you know something about the guy that I don't, in which case I dunno...

I just meant that if he paid that much money, why would he destroy it just to spite his father? But if he says he did and people that know him say he did, maybe he did. Might need a head check though! Anyway, I agree with Bitium: time for a Comptech high flow filter! He'll never even know.

Hey VTEC,
Dont be pissed & just cool it.
I see that you have a bosch platinum 4+ installed on your TL.
Could you just tell me what Bosch part number you have for my reference.
Appreciate any comments after the installation.
Thanks.

I walked. Till I could afford to buy a 1974 mustang/pinto.

Anyhow... 18 years old and you're not allowed to put an intake
on a car that's in your name? I know I'm not the model for a solid
family. But sh!t. Fight for some independance.

he took it off for me & put my stock airbox back in...
Hmm, he sounds like a real pro. How long did it take him? Maybe someone should hire him as an installer.

just get some other mod that you can BOTH agree on, that way you can spend some "quality" time together and be happy at the same time. take it easy, give the old man a break.

my parents don't know anything about cars..i could get a turbo kit and they wouldn't even know. The problem is if i do get anything done to the engine I have to get the owner signature and since i'm still a minor...that's not good...My parents were *****ing at me because i was thinking about getting a shift knob.
