Is my car totalled?

Is my car totalled?
Well,
I did something stupid today. I'm really not sure if I can really blame myself and not the owners of the parking lot but will see. Anyways, long story short, I ran into the base of an old light post (without the post). For some odd reason it was in the middle of the lanes. Someone hit it yesterday too!
Anyways, is my car totalled? I have 100,900 miles on it. Need new hood, grill, bumper, radiator, horn, etc.
Here are some pics:

Highly doubtfull. Thats pretty minor damage

that is kinda lame where they placed the light poles, if anything it should be WITHIN the striped parking area. that's probably ~$2500 to fix so as long as your car is worth twice that much, it shouldn't be an issue (esp if you are not going through insurance).

Try sueing the landlord for not placing highly visible warning signs around the concrete thing. Make them pay for your damage.

I highly doubt the car is totaled. And yeah, everyone else is right. I would sue them like crazy. Even if that was a functional light poles it should NOT be where it is. It should be at the front of a single parking space. What dumbasses would even think of painting those lines where they are with the poles in the middle of the traffic lanes.

How did you not see that? I agree it should be moved or marked, but you hit it head on... I'd understand if you backed into it...but this looks like driver error to me.
Either way, your car isnt totalled. Rejoice

At night maybe I might understand. I would send the pictures to your insurance if you go the insurance route. Would be curious as to what they say.

But, if there was no light pole, and it was night time making it impossible to see the thing, then you actually have a pretty good case.

Uhm. Yes you should.... if that was a person you'd be at fault for negligence. That right there cost you the case.

I would get your insurance co to try and get some coin out of the property owners but I'm sure your on your own. Like the others said, you were driving straight ahead and the thing is bright yellow. Even at night those things shine when your lights hit them due to the reflective paint. Yup shitty design to a parking lot. Pole or not, functional or not ... its bright yello and big....hard to miss. Crash barrels would be ideal around it as that would atleast save some damage if not your pride.

what the fuck is that piece of shit doing in the middle of the parking lot?! i would sue the shit out of the owner of the lot. it's not even a matter of the driver's fault or not. that is a potential driving hazard on any given day.

its not totalled at all. Yes you will need to spend some cash, but its not the end of it. I don't think at least.
That is the worst design I have seen for a parking lot...poles in the middle of lane???
I think its somewhat that owners fault...its rediculous!!!!!!!

i have to agree with most people about the placement of thos "light poles." even though there painted yellow(and thats not the reflective paint either) that cant be up to prop code for a public parking lot, i would talk to your insurance agent and find out who was the other driver who also hit the pole and find out what happen with him\her. other then that i say gather more info and hit up a lawyer and file a case against the prop owner....................at lease thats what i would do

If other car have hit this concrete slab in the past and the damn thing is still there I don't think you will have much success suing the parking lot. BTW if it get totaled make sure to buy it back because that is not a lot of damage at all.
