My beauty finally arrived + moon roof question
Yes, can’t tell you the level of excitement, last week on Wednesday I finally got my silver TLP!
It was raining a couple of days ago and I have noticed some water inside, around front edge of the moon roof. Later, when I got home, I have opened it and took a look from the outside. There is a sort of channel and as far as I remember holes so it looks like it is OK. But I am not sure and that’s why I am asking you, what do you think about this?
Yesterday was raining heavily while I was driving but this time it was dry. Interesting. Maybe dealer lubricated it extensively so rubber could not seal properly.
Anyway, I more then love this car and I am so happy about it.

It may have been the moon roof was left slightly open. If it happens again, take it to the dealer. Also be advised there is a service bulletin out on the 99 - 01 model. If you leave the sunshade opne and there is rattleing, there is a fix for it....

I haven’t tried to drive the car with a moon roof open or tilt, weather didn’t allow me so far, but I always open the sunshade and I did not notice any noise so far. Keeping knocking on wood and hoping it will not happen to me.

Yah, they probably fixed the problem. I have not experienced any rattling when the sunroof is open or on tilt. The sunroof was probably slightly tilted (not visible to you) which caused the water to leak in. Therefore if it did not happen again I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, it rains again today so I am going to check it again, even though like I have said already, when I looked at it from the outside, it does look like that even if the water gets in, there are holes which I believe are supposed to drain out the water. Can somebody comment on this? Are these holes supposed to drain the water from the channel that runs along the front edge of the moon roof? There is a similar channel along the rear edge as far as I was able to see.

You gotta hate waiting. I would be screaming to my dealer.

Well, to be honest with you, I really did not mind waiting after reading about problems other people have. I was thinking like, give them some time, maybe they are going to fix it. And, of course, time will show.
I have just got back from dealership. They explain to me that water in that channel, which runs all around moon roof is perfectly normal and it does look reasonable to me. They also confirmed there are two holes in the front (that is obvious) and two holes in the back so water can run out. Now, I guess, I can sleep tonight. JJJ

Hey Mike how do you go about fixing the sunshade rattling problem. I hear it when I leave it half open with the moonroof closed.
