My Baby is gone :( RIP TL
I havent had the heart to post it up on AZ yet, but on June 29th, 2010.
I was on my way home from work...when a lady pulled out of heartland plaza hoping to enter the another plaza right in front of her....but she forgot to check if any cars were coming on the road! I noticed her exiting the plaza...I tried to honk and warn her but it was to late (and she kept going...).
I was able to steer the car into her front end away from the passenger side, purely by luck. I also turned my head away from the airbag, so when it went off It didn't hurt...except when I saw the damage to my car and I had just installed my rims and tires, 4 days before the accident...I had one day that I took the car for a spin in the countryside and truly enjoyed it.
No one was hurt in the accident...it could have ended worse if I had not swerved away from her passenger doors. Her mom and baby were both sitting on that side. The cop charged her with failing to yield...
I didn't think losing the car would matter, but after awhile you realize its not just a car. It's like part of the family, "it doesn't just carry people...it carries memories."
Insurance has officially written off the car, and I've gotten a cheque from them already. Though its only half of what I paid for her, considering she had 300,000 km (but no problems, original tranny). It was a fair price, but its not enough for me to get another car just yet. So for now I'm stuck taking the bus...but the funniest thing is, when I had my car. LGM coloured TL's were rare you hardly saw them anywhere. But now I see them everywhere...sigh.
I really want to get another 99 LGM, but not sure right now. I was able to take off all my parts, suspension and all. Luckily I didnt put the front lip on, so I will be selling everything...or if I find another 99 I'll put the parts on that.
Here are some pictures:

I'm sorry about the car man. I know how you must be feeling right now. I would really hate to be riding the bus too. Good luck on getting a better one.

the good thing about memories:
they cant take them away from you just because the item/object is not in front of you anymore~
something I learned years ago,, `after the fire` (divorce)

it was just stuff..I can get better stuff!!

^agreed.
wasn't it labeled her fault? then her insurance company HAS to give you a rental...
as for another car, make sure you salvage what you can and hopefully you can get something similar

Unless I'm missing something, the damage to that car looks to be easily repaired. There is no frame or suspension damage. The radiator doesn't even look damaged. It needs a new hood and fender and some inner sections replaced. These parts could be obtained cheaply used. It seems to be a trend that insurance companies total cars that could be repaired.
