If you have them it may be too late to remove them. They are known to damage the paint. If you have them and cant remove them paint them body color.

paint them glossy black, its more bearable and looks pretty good on mine. i took them off and it makes the car look 4 inches taller so they are staying on until i drop. plus i would have to do some touch up paint cus they ruined my body underneath.
lol fstyyms1 your avatar is so addicting to watch over and over and over ...........

I took mine off the other day just to see what it would look like. They have been on the car since I bought it. Anyways, they ate into the paint behind them. So, I will be painting them body color. I don't know what I'm going to do if I drop it.
There was a 98-02 Accord parked beside me earlier and I noticed it had them. But they were much smaller than the ones that came on the TL. I don't know if they would fit, but they looked 70% better.

you guys could always put these on there too just to add to the greatness of the mudflaps
but really, i would keep them if the paint was screwed too.. thankfully the previous owner took them off day one 10 years ago.. cant tell they were ever there..

Paint's going to be messed up anyways if you already have them on...might as well keep it on to get a little protection from road debris (depending on where you live)
and imo it helps me to keep the car clean after a car wash and going through a little puddle of water...
some like it some don't...you can take then off and if you don't like it put'em back on...

I voted to keep 'em and paint them body color. I did that. I followed the instructions for painting rubber bumpers on paintscratch.com and it looks OK (if I do say so myself). They don't scrape because I have a mild drop, but they would scrape if I were to back into a parking space with a high curb.
I don't have any pics of my TL-S, but SSMTL01 has some pics in this thread when he sold his TL.

I don't think the splash guards look all that great, but neither does a big dirty area behind each wheel which results from driving through even the smallest puddle or across a liitle drainage rivulet.
I'll buy a factory set from someone who doesn't want their's anymore, if the price is right.

Call around to your local Auto"paint" stores, not Parts stores and see if they mix in spray cans. If they do give them your paint code and also ask for flexible additive and adhesion promoter and spray away.

Thanks fsttyms1. Looks like a busy weekend for me already. When I bought my 06 GS430 last September, I didn't even think about mod it. I have it almost 6 months now. No thoughts of doing anything on it. I just got this 03 tls acura, already, I'm looking for modding it already. BTW, this is my wifie car. She wrecked the 99 Lexus GS400. Fully loaded with nav and everthing. But I definitely like this tls better.

If you go to paintscratch.com, they have a list of items you'll need to paint rubberized parts, including rubberized primer, basecoat, clearcoat and adhesion promoter. The paint match from them is very good too.

Thanks bonkhead. I'll search the site later. I like the mud flaps. They look good only if they're color matched with the car. This is another mod I plan to do later.
