Mr Clean's Autodry My F*kin Nuts!!

ma[IMG]n i am so daym pissed right now, whoever said mr cleans autodry was really good can suck my freakin dick,
So i come home from work and im pretty tired, but my car was dirty as hell, so im like hey lemme wash my car with the mr clean thing that way i can save some time and not dry it cuz that takes forever. So i goto autozone and buy that shit for $20. What did i get for spending $20?? almost TWICE the time i usually spend on washing my car, because this bullshit piece of shit wouldnt dry my car. no no, theres more, now i gotta wash my car again tommorow cuz theres spots all over it, im too tired to be doing that right now. I thought maybe i did something wrong, so i repeated the steps up to 3 freakin times!!, then somethin hit me in a head and said, wait this shit just doesnt work stop wastein ur time. Maybe because it was sunny? NOPE i did it when the sun was pretty much gone. I doubt i messed up on the steps. DONT BUY THIS SHIT, im gonna try to go and get my daym money back for this crapp. Don't believe me, look at these pics! damn it, how do u post pics on here, they changed it? ahhhh, ill figure it out

was this the first time you used it? If not, maybe your filter needs to be changed. I know after I washed my car and my brother in laws avalanche the filter was no good and the first time I tried to use it, it left spots all over.
I don't know why your didn't work but mine works great!

Take a deep breath, and try again.

My friends and my brother have had good results with Mr. Clean Auto Dry. I don't approve of it, because stuff made for easy task is usually not the best stuff. I only use Zaino.

I don't think it should really matter if you do it in the sun or not. The filter -- filters out all the minerals in the water that leaves the water spot when the water drys or evaporates. Go return it and get your money back.

I don't care what you say because that shit works great for me. Maybe there is too much hardness in your water. Check your filter to see if it is turning brown yet. Once it turns brown then you have to replace the filter.

Fuck it, give it another shot before you give up.

Check to make sure you put the filter in correctly ... If you didnt thats most likely your problem!

I've had mixed results with Mr. Clean Autodry ... first few times I used it, it worked great ... Best results were when I washed the car at night.

I used it one time in the sun and it left all this residue on the car... nasty stuff.

I used it once a week after putting on 2 fresh coats of Zaino Z5 + ZFX and it didn't work right at all ... The zaino beaded the water up and it wouldn't dry off ... when it did dry off it left spots. Dunno if I did something wrong that time, but the filter shoulda been OK because it was the 10 wash filter and I was only on wash #3.

Oh well ... I'll try again and see I guess.

Yes, while using Mr. Clean on my car w/the NXT on, the water beads a hell of a lot faster compared to using Mr. Clean on my car w/o the NXT on..which in my opinion takes a bit too long for the water to start beading up..but it does cut my car washing time in half.

One of my boyz uses it for his Escalade EXt and the damn thing looks good after he's done. Personally I won't use anything if it ain't got meguiars or zaino on it.

Sounds like you didnt apply it properly.
1.) Rinse w/ water
2.) Soap it down
3.) Scrub
4.) Rinse w/ water again
5.) Filter

I used it and it's ok if you need a quick wash done, but if you really enjoy washing your car stick with the traditional way. I found the soap to be pretty crappy and the overall shine wasnt impressive. But like I said, it's only good for a quick wash/dry.

Does it leave a film on the car? I have heard others say that it dries but leaves a film.

Wait a minute!

Actually, wasn't there a thread somewhere here a few weeks ago that said the Mr. Clean thing isn't compatible with Zaino or Meguiar's products? I thought this has already been discussed - someone emailed Zaino asking if they could use the Mr. Clean Autodry on their car with Zaino and he said no...it wouldn't work properly. ???? Don't have time to search for the thread - but I'm pretty sure I remember reading something like it....

I use it with Z-7, Zaino soap, works fine, tested it by letting one side dry in the direct sunlight ... no spots.

I've used AutoDry in the sun and in the shade. I couldn't be happier with the results. Best investment I've made in a while. It costs about a buck a wash and I get back all the wasted chamois drying time. I honestly don't see any difference between an ass-busting hour of washing and drying and doing the autodry thing. If it looks as good as the old way, why knock it? We all have the same basic car or at least the same paint we're cleaning. Do you really think all the people that are happy with it never washed their cars before AutoDry came out? Everyone knows what a good-looking clean car is and I for one wouldn't settle for a half-ass wash just to save some time. Oh well, I guess change can sometimes be a bit scary...

maybe you did not set the switch correctly when you were rinsing off. you should get a slow misting spray instead of a strong pulse of water. there is also a setting for the soap part so you gotta remember what all 3 do.

the first time i used it was good, however, i thought the dry time was very slow and you have to be skillful when you rinse (making sure you overlap and don't splash) or it will be less than a perfectg finish. i have switched back to normal washing. good idea but not for me.

I have had the best luck with mr clean when I wash car later in the evening. I have an abp tl s and I think the stuff works fine. The sun and heat dry it too fast in my opinion. The effectiveness of this product is a function of how hard your water is. I put the soap on a wet mit and go over the car that way instead of using the sprayer. Do not put in another car wash solution into you resevoir. I had a real mess with some waxy reaction product. Hold the rinse close to the car and be liberal with it. If it can clean and abp car it must work. I am happy with it.

anyone else have this problem? the first time i had good results but the second time i used it, the car came out like it has tree sap all over the car!!! i couldn't believe what i was seeing plus it took many hours to clay and rewax. however, i did add more soap but it was a different brand to the little that remained. maybe this was the culprit?

the best deal you can get is to get the $5 coupon via their website and then get it applied at the cheapest shop around (that probably already have the instant rebate).

nope i read all the instructions over and over and kept doing the same steps, but now that u guys r saying zaino makes it not work in some cases, i dunna because i waxed my car about 3 weeks ago with Mothers wax, i dont kno if thats wat was effecting it. This morning i looked at the car and its not that bad, its got water spots on the fender and a lil on the trunnk but besides that its not too bad, i guess i have to let it dry over night or somethin,
