MPG inaccuracy
MPG inaccuracy
So considering that there's a high possibility that the ODO can read mileage off by 5% does that mean we need to factor that into our MPG calculations? I was thinking about this earlier today because I'm in the midst of figuring out what the actual MPG I can get on my car based on my daily driving. So far I've estimated roughly 23 MPG but a little concerned that even that estimate is inaccurate. If it is in fact off by 5% then that means I lose 1.15 MPG. I know it's not by much but with today's gas prices every mile counts. Considering the brand is Acura, you would think they would strive for "Accuracy". I guess the ODO reading being off by 5% is both good and bad though, if it weren't for that I'm sure Acura would've denied my claim on the transmission.
