Mpg
What MPG are you guys averaging, and whats your driving style and average drive?
I get about 19mpg, I drive it with my foot in the floor and I usually am on freeways and such....

I drive like a jackass, usually half highway, half city. I get about 18-19 mph usually, but when I do all highway, usually about 24 mpg. I've gotten as high as 28 mpg all highway.

Since mileage is taken right off the odometer, this had to be a case of either a pump error or not completely filling the tank. No way a TL gets 40 mpg. Heck, the Geo Prizm with a 1.8 liter engine and a 5 speed I owned didn't get 40 mpg on all highway driving.

i was doing 70-80 mph and it can achieve high 30s
put a/c off helps a lot

the corolla engine can get 40 on hwy driving, depends on the driving condition and speed.
my mom drove the loaner civic and she got 35-40mpg even thou driving in the city with A/C on...
there is no way the tl got 40mpg unless you were coasting down 1 big hill the whole way. low 30's yes, i get them all the time but not 40.
since i have to fill up my tank almost every day i quit paying attention to my mileage but its typically 24mpg. thats bot city and hwy and the car ideling all day long. straight interstate driving its typically around 30-32mpg

with all hwy i can do 38mpg @ 90mph all the way with a fully loaded car and 3 passengers. I can make it from NYC to Toronto on 1 tank of gas.
now with 1/2 city and 1/2 highway in NYC I get 18mpg to 20mpg.

P.S. the tl gets better mileage at 100 than it does at 90
In Canada, we use imperial gallons, they are different than US gallons. That may be the source of some of the confusion. The TL is quoted as getting 7.5 litres per 100 km on www.acura.ca, which is just under 38 miles to the imperial gallon, according to Google.
Careful driving could probably exceed that.

wow..500 to a full tank. thats awesome
the most i ever get is 250 to a full tank. from full to like barely empty. and when i fill up, the pump reads anout 15 gallons.
but i do ALL city driving. i live in northern jersey by the bridge to nyc. so i get traffic only all the time. plus there's never a time when i do use the highway.. i would probably get like 300-400 if it was all highways though
oyeah and also i leave AC ON most of the time. at full auto. so thats what also gives me that 16mpg average (city driving)

I think it was like 13.5 or 14 gallons when I had just reached Markham outside of Toronto. I did hit 100mph+ I guess I usually take it as 13.5/14.5 gallons for a full tank, I rather not get stranded JUST incase the next 40miles to 60 miles has no gas station.
Cruise set at 75 on the turnpike got me 33.34mpg...calculated from 3/4 usage of the tank.
I'm too lazy to dig out my old physics books, but I'd be curious to know the exact speed and weight (variable by the amount of gas in the tank) necessary to get the best mpg.

my trip to windsor recorded 32mpg with going 90mph+, going over 100mph a few times and reached 130mph once, but 100miles with going 70mph because the low in uel light is on
on teh way back i i stayed at 90-95mph and i got a little less with 28mpg

CITY- avg is 20, one time i got 16!!
HIGHWAY- the best i got was 26 all highway...tank came out to like 350 gallons thats my highest
i got old tires

Driving from Maryland to New Jersey just two day ago, I got 240 off 1/2 the tank. That is ALL 100% highway miles. At an average speed of 83mph or something like that. BUT the second i started driving in NJ city and had my NJ cousn drive my car using the TipTronic ... the mpg fell FAST!

But when driving around northern NJ i usually get aroun 19-20mpg. Still not bad for a powerful V6 luxury sedan.
From my experience, with the gas light just on, the TL will only hold 13 gallons. It's extremely pessimistic.
I get in the 30s on the highway, and 22-24 in the city with my 02 TL-P
And for the person who posted getting 320 miles to a tank (that fills up 13 gallons), that is almost 25mpg. Not bad at all.

i get like 16-19 city, and like 26-30 highway.....so when i mix the both i usually get like 20-25 mpg a tank
sucks when i drive straight city tho...i get like 260 a tank
the best mileage u can get, if u set the car on cruise control around 60-65mph, anything higher just burns more gas.
i have no clue why some of u saying u get 38-40mpg, you are calculating something wrong. Hybrid cars barely get that. (40mpg x 17.17gal = 686.6miles, i dont think so)
The highest I ever got on highway, was 420 miles for almost on empty, which is about 25mpg, and thats awesome. (going 80mph on cruise control)
Fill yer tank to a full, when u get to exactly half, divide that number by 8.585gal (17.17gallons/2), and that will be an approximate, do that for a few fill-up, and you will get yer real avg #.
For ppl that drive in a big city with traffic, stop and go, burns gas like crazy.
someone asked about how many gallons are left when the Yellow Warning goes on, its about 3 gallons. so 60 miles for sure of driving.
