Mpg
I'm lucky to get 275, I get 230-250 usually, and thats a decent mix...I swear it must be evaporating, or I need to take it to the dealer. I got 343 when I picked it up in Houston but that was quite a bit of highway driving on that 1 lucky tank. This sucks. :-/

So i took a long road trip and decided to see how good o-gas milage i could get.
i got 28.77 miles per gallon. That was keeping it at about 70-73 mph for a tank of gas. The terrain was mosly flat with some small mountain passes.
needles to say i was impressed. i got about 11,000 miles on an 03 tl's

In the city (mix) I get 290 before my low light comes "ON".

With 100% NYC driving, I get like 13 mpg which comes out to 220 or so with a full tank. Rhizopod and KZGTR - is that typically normal for you guys? I'm wondering if I need to get it checked. I thought I was the only one with such low numbers, but it appears you guys are too. And since you guys drive in NYC, it's comparable.
I think this post says something characteristically about the TL especially, that the fuel efficiency is very dependent upon driving styles, I would have to say moreso than any other car I've driven in the past.

2002 TLS- I get 34mpg highway doing 80mph. In city driving I get around 23mpg. I've never had a car with this HP get such good mpg!

96 RX7- 21 HW - note - Mazda's suck gas for size/weight
89 Corvette- 17 HW - note- expected result, not bad
70 mustang 302- 12mpg HW- note- who cares about mpg!

I get about 25 mpg, or around 340 miles from full to when the "oh ****" light comes on (which has been about 13.7 gallons for me).
Thats about 60/40 highway and city, but highway traffic is always stop and go in Houston. I drive mildly aggressive.

Averaged 34 MPG highway with 4 passengers, full trunk, and AC on while driving 80 MPH once. I almost made it past halfway to our destination in NJ before needing to fuel up. Got right near 500 miles. Usually get 33 highway and I'm not sure about city driving since my drives are usually mixed. But I did average 24 MPG once driving like the cabbies in NYC on a winter trip.
02 TL-S for a car w/ this much hp I'm really impressed by the mpg that i'm getting.
On avg. I get about 360-375 b/f the fuel light turns on, this is w/ 70% hwy/ 30% city. This would avg out about 25-26 mpg for me.

just wondering...this might seem kinda stupid but imma ask anyways, if i always drive in sports shift mode and i keep the gear at a high gear, 4, the engine runs at a lower RPM when i'm on local streets than if the gear is at 2 which it would idealy be at, would that damage any component in the car in any way? or would that help me get more miles on a tank of gas

I get about 250 during normal driving (60% city), LA to Las Vegas resulted in the 300 miles being covered using about half a tank (!), which is about double of what i normally get.

just got back from the holiday trips - 27 mpg on the way up ( a little disappointed as last time i made this trip got about 30-31 mpg both ways) - haven't checked the way back yet but there is 410 miles (much better) on the trip odometer right now and the gas light just peeked on as i pulled up to my house this evening
one strange thing i noticed - not sure how much one has to do with the other but with 5w20 oil in it and the oem honda oil filter i seemed to get about 2-3 mpg more than what is currently in the car (5w30 mobil 1 and a K&N oil filter) anyone else noticed this happen to their cars?
one other question I have - has anyone actually tested the K&N drop in air filter to see if it gave them any improved gas mileage as claimed? just wondering cause i was considering getting one if it actually does help

My 02 has 32000 on it, and I haven't gotten less than 300 on any tank, and average about 22-24 mpg. I have never gotten less than 20 mpg ever, and I am geeky enough to calc every tank.
Travel is probably 60/40 city/hwy. And I usually do 80+ on the highway.

usual driving for me is about 50/50 city/highway and i get about 24.5-26 mpg per tank depending on how much of one or the other driving it do
pure highway mileage on trips is usually 30-31
i am actually really impressed that these cars can do this great on gas mileage
my fiancee has a '03 trailblazer and we have never even come close to hitting chevrolet's estimated mpg as posted, 16-18 mpg sucks, but at least she only has a 3 mile commute each way to and from work
