Moving vtec engagement point

Moving vtec engagement point

Ok , I typed on the search bar bout moving the engagement point of vtec and didnt found anything ,so i plan on moving the stock point of 4500 on my basic tl to 4000 I plan on putting on my apexi vafc on my tl for mods right now I have a cat back system ,full short ram intake and I am planning on doing my type s intake manifold swap has anybody ever done this , The way I see it ,I would have 2000 rpm of vtec to play with I would like your comment please

rev limit is 6500 on the tlp so you already have 2000 rpm of vtec engagement. people have put a type s manifold on the tlp, theres even a diy for it in the diy section.

no what I mean is has anybody ever move the vtec engagement to 4000 I know about the type S swap I plan on doing that soon.if I move the vtec from 4500 to 4000 I will have 2600 rpm of vtec

You wont gain any power by doing it. You will most likely loose some till the normal tuning for it comes into play. Leave it.

^agreed. unless you are a tuner and are on a dyno and can adjust fuel and timing maps then you will gain nothing.

I have the Neo AFC...
It has the VTEC settings menu, but our ecu wont let us touch it right?

You should be able to adjust it, but like said before, there is no point. Every thing in the ECU is optimized for where its at.

Interesting, that's cool,
but i see what your saying, there's no point, just wasting fuel and probs being counter productive.
