Right...
Anyway, in answer to your question, you have to ask yourself, as I did when shopping for a car: yes, manuals are fun (no one can deny that), but do you want to live with one every day? Some people do, some don't. On a real sports car, I'd def want a manual, but on a distinguished cruiser like the TL, personally, I'd rather have the auto. I don't race. I drive myself and others around...sometimes kind of fast
That's just me.

manualls are too much like work, fun at times but not all the time. Especially when your on one of these monster seattle hills & your @ a light & someones two inches off your ass. Better be good with that clutch. Plus with the ss, for the most part you have the best of both worlds!

BTW, John, if you get an auto, just save some money and get a used TLS. If you decide to go manual, go 2004 TL. If I had a chance to do this, I'd go for 6 speed no doubt.

If you need to have a feel, take an RSX Type-S or a TSX in 6M out for a test drive, then you would want the TL and all it's 270hp glory in 6M. And don't worry about the "work". Rowing thru the gears will be second nature once you get the hang of it, highway or not.
But as he said, depending on the environment like Seattle or SFO, some drivers may not be too confident with the clutch. But experience will take that away.
As for me, 6MT for the TL. Don't want a "take Two" on this 2nd Gen tranny issue.
I don't think VSA works in a 6MT either, hence the torque steer (what would you expect in a 270hp FWD car?) so the "traction control" is all left up to you..

If you use the TL for daily driving and there is a lot traffic, then take the auto, else take the 6spd, it's a lot of fun.
If you prefer performance driving, well, TL is not a true sports car like 350Z/EVO/STI, maybe it's better to look elsewhere.

beans dont burn on the grill, took a whole buncha pushing, just to get up that hill (duuun dun). He was probably thinking of Orlando, Florida, which prompted him to think of Florida Evans, which led to James, then the Thelma, then to Janet Jackson, his thoughts then shifted to Rerun, back to the last hit of crack and then to J.J. which cause him to hum the theme song, strike the ghetto dancing pose and quote the words. I consulted Ms. Cleo, she said I was right and that I would be rich soon.
