Damn, I'm a little disappointed with only 270 hp. It should've been at least 280 to match with the g35. Oh well, hopefully a type-s will come out with a more powerful engine later on.

Interesting. The optional engine for NSX is actually smaller than the base engine. Is that a typo ?

Looks like the TL comes with DOHC now. I believe that setup could be easily mod-ed to get more horsies out of it.

Great info MerC !!!

Cheers !!!

The optional engine is if you opt for the 4-speed automatic transmission. I guess Honda's tranny can't handle the extra horsepower, even in the NSX!

Yeah but there was not a type S version of the 2nd generation car for the first 3 model years, so expect one down the road.

DOHC 3.2L!!! Nice.....I wonder if this is the same engine from the NSX......detuned in the same fashion as Nissan/Infiniti....kinda like a G35 sedan and coupe.

If that's the case, I wonder what we could get out of it perhaps with an NSX ECU and common mods....I don't know..... maybe honda will employ i-VTEC.....

As a side note the new car is said to be smaller yet still weighs in @ 3500lbs!

I stand corrected....the new car is 100lbs lighter @ 3400lbs. however its' just 170lbs more than a TSX. It's gonna be fast out the box with two cams turning and revised tranny ratios. Hopefully, Honda has beefed up the tranny!

oh damn i didnt see the doch, the potential of a freakin doch 3.2 liter honda motor is incredible. Not only is it hi reving, but the motor will take to mods much better and put more power though the RPM range.

As Some of you were excited that the car was a DOHC, I dont think it is so..

Car and Driver says its a SOHC.. Everything is contradicting each other..
