The front door rattle has returned.

The center console latch is still not working. What the hell? Three times to fix one simple problem.

New driver seat squeak .

Welcome to the club, buddy!! I am sure all TLs have squeaks and rattles. For those who thinks that they have a problem free TL, just wait!!!

 

I'm on my second. The first was a 2001 TL and now a TLS. The ONLY problem with either is the paint on the TLS. No rattles,noise or any other problems with the cars. If not for the paint this car would be perfect. I have no mod's done except for a Momo black carbon fiber shift knob.

 

My roof rattle showed up at around 1400 miles. I too thought I was one of the lucky ones before then. No other problems yet (knocking on wood).

 

I have had 4 Acuras: an NSX, a 99 TL, an '01 TL, and now the '02 TLS. None of them has had a rattle - some minor squeaks same as every other car I have ever owned. Have I just been terribly lucky?

Lately I have been checking the back of Motor Trend for the long term-car wrapups. I look for the Problem Areas.

This month there is 1 American car (PT Cruiser), 1 German (Merc S500), and 2 Japanese SUV's.

Problem areas:

PT: None
SUV1: None
SUV2: Slipping transmission
German: Burned out bulbs

I need to post to the Japanese SUV Forum "Would you pay extra to have your care assebled in Ohio?"

and on the Mercedes Forum: "MY S500 SUXXXX!!!!"

I think not.

This endless whining and old lady fussing is starting to get really tiresom.

Where is that Amsoil guy when I need a good old fashioned brawl.

For cryin out loud, post something with meat! Anyone else noticed that some of the regulars have abandoned the site?

 

Welcome to the rattle club. My TLS has dash broad
rattles for a while. Now the driver's side seat belt mount
on b-pillar rattle sometime. But when the mechanics
rides with me, they are gone... just like
fixing bugs: cannot reproduce, no fix.. Now I suspect
dealer messed up my trunk lock unit as it sounds
very loud when unlocked remotely.

Other than that, everything seems fine. Still
enjoying it

If your engine blows up when you start your car...THEN you may have a problem.
