Question moonroof visor

I purchase a TLS without the moonroof visor. When I looked at it the moonroof looked so small with the visor on. My 96TL didn't have one and I thought it was better without it.

I'm questioning my decision on the new one. I particularly don't care for the noise at almost any speed. Anyone have opinions for or against. Is it easy to put on or does a novice need the dealer to do it?

You'll find a lot of members are against the visors but I think it's great. If you like to drive with the roof open it really cuts down on the wind noise and buffeting. Installation takes about 10 minutes. Just be sure to put a coat of wax on first.

I totally agree with 99WDP!!! I'm easily irritated by the wind noise too!

all up to you... but i like the contour and the slick look of my TL and i dun wanna obstruct it with a visor... and i also like the sound of the wind when i drive.... that's the only reason i open it sometimes

why do you have to put on a coat of wax before you put on the visor? i heard that the visor can leaves small dents on the roof.

I agree on the small dents (indentations). I removed mine, and it looked indented all the way around. You can feel the 'groove' where it sat. Dont get one.....

Not small dents. It will leave "rub marks" where the rubber lip meets the paint, just like the mudguards will do. A coat of wax helps protect the paint but it will still leave the marks. So your choices are:

1. Take it off every three weeks or so and clean the rub spots and re-wax, or:

2. Leave it on and never take it off. Sure the rub marks will be there but no one will ever see them (like the mudguards).

I have a moonroof visor and am currently doing #2.
