Moonroof Tilt Feature

Assuming some of us have owned vehicles outside the Honda family.

Does anyone else think the roof tilts-up only a very small amount, creating excessive wind noise?

On my old Maxima, G20T and Camry SE-V6, the roof seem to tilt twice as high, with a lot less road noise.

The noise is most frustrating!

Any thoughts?

Exclamation at 110 mph!

there's always wind noise! i just turn up the stereo! but you're right, it's not much of a vent tilt.

Thanks for the validation. Certainly, at 100 MPH, but I find it annoying ay anything above 40 MPH.

In my 96 Maxima, I could keep it open in the winter, on the highway, with my heated seats on and no heat.

Now, anything above 40 MPH is annoying.

Thumbs up wind deflector

I have the wind deflector on my '99. It definitely reduces the noise level when opening the glass. I don't even bother with the tilt feature--I just open the glass 3 inches or so. It seems reasonably quiet to me. I'm not sure that I like the way it looks, though.

I am sure the deflector would work, but I did not need it on other cars and I do not care for the appearance.

Same here, at 50mph it's still annoying, and I don't like the wind deflector. So I do just turn the stereo up.

While the big plastic wind deflector add-on works, its a throw back concept to the 1980s and looks cheap on a supposed 'near luxury' vehicle. Most of the other companies have solve the problem (bimmer, for example) with a small metal flap that comes up just a hair in the front of the opening when the roof is open. It folds down and into the track and isnt seen when the roof is closed. And its barely perceptible from inside or outside the car when the window is open, but it does the trick. It cant cost more than a dollar in metal and a spring or too so it baffles the mind that Acura didnt come up with a design like this. I have always been disappointed with the TL sunroof for this reason.

Sorry for the problems, but glad I am not the only one to have this beef.

I do this too. Works great when its raining. No rain comes in. I think the look is okay.
